What does a Maldives beach wedding cost?
The useful number is the total you will pay, not just the opening package price. Prices in this market often sit behind an enquiry form, and resort figures are frequently quoted before service charge and tax are added. Here are our ceremony prices, followed by the other costs to consider when planning a stay on Thoddoo — with the arithmetic shown.
The short answer
A ceremony with us costs between $760.50 and $1,813.50, tax included. At a resort, the same thing starts at roughly $1,271.56 once the extras are added, and that is before a single night of accommodation.

Why a resort price is not the price
Resort wedding brochures quote figures followed by “++”. That means 10% service charge and 17% tourism GST are added afterwards — about 27% on top of the number you read. Several brochures still print 16%, because the rate rose on 1 July 2025 and they have not been updated.

What the whole thing comes to
A ceremony price on its own is not much use. Here is a complete total for two people staying 5 nights on Thoddoo — the ceremony, the boat from the airport and back, the room, and the green tax on each night.
Green tax is USD 6 per person per night at a guesthouse of 50 rooms or fewer on an inhabited island, against USD 12 at a resort. Over a week for two people that difference alone is USD 84.
Flights are not included, because they depend entirely on where you start.

Questions about cost
- How much does a wedding in the Maldives cost?
- At a resort, a ceremony alone typically runs from about USD 1,250 to well over USD 5,000 once service charge and tax are added, before any accommodation. On a local island the same ceremony costs considerably less. Our beach ceremony is USD 877.50 including tax.
- Is there tax on top of the price?
- Tourism GST is 17% and rose from 16% on 1 July 2025. Resorts usually quote "++", meaning 10% service charge and 17% tax are added afterwards, which is about 27% on top. Every price on this site already includes tax and is shown with the tax as its own line.
- What else will we pay for besides the ceremony?
- Your flights, your accommodation, transfers between the airport and the island, and green tax on each night of your stay. Green tax is USD 6 per person per night at a guesthouse of 50 rooms or fewer on an inhabited island, against USD 12 at a resort.
- Do we pay extra for guests?
- Guests are welcome at no additional charge in every package. Ceremonies are capped at 20 people in total, the two of you included.
- Is a cheaper Maldives wedding worse?
- It is mostly a difference in where it happens. A resort ceremony carries the cost of the resort. A ceremony on an inhabited local island uses the same beach, the same celebrant and the same photographer without that overhead. The ceremony itself is symbolic in both cases, because visitors cannot legally register a marriage in the Maldives, whatever their religion.
